About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Instrument & Control (I&C) Technical Lead to oversee instrumentation and control systems maintenance and operations within a nuclear facility in the UAE.
This role is responsible for leading preventive and corrective maintenance, calibration, testing, troubleshooting, and system modifications while ensuring strict compliance with nuclear safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
The ideal candidate will serve as a subject matter expert, providing technical leadership, guiding a team of technicians and supervisors, and ensuring flawless execution of all I&C activities during outage and operational phases.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and supervise all I&C maintenance and outage activities.
Develop and prepare scopes of work, procedures, and schedules for I&C systems.
Plan, coordinate, and execute I&C work packages to meet outage milestones.
Perform calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and control loops.
Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for sensors, transmitters, actuators, and process control systems.
Collaborate with engineering, operations, and safety teams to ensure alignment and efficient communication.
Provide technical support and mentoring to I&C teams.
Ensure all work complies with safety, quality, and nuclear standards.
Prepare reports, documentation, and close-out summaries for maintenance activities.
Qualifications & Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline.
Experience: 7–10 years of experience in I&C maintenance and leadership roles within a nuclear power plant or similarly regulated industrial environment.
Technical Skills
• Strong technical expertise in instrumentation and control systems.
• Hands-on experience with DCS, PLC, and process automation.
• Skilled in calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of I&C devices.
• Proficient in interpreting P&IDs, loop diagrams, and wiring schematics.
• Familiarity with nuclear safety systems, reactor protection, and control logic.
Soft Skills
• Strong leadership, communication, and team coordination abilities.
• High attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
• Ability to perform effectively under pressure during outage conditions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Adherence to nuclear safety culture principles and continuous improvement mindset.
