Mechanical Fitters – Rotating Equipment | Hinkley Point

We are recruiting skilled Mechanical Fitters to join our team working inside the Turbine Hall at Hinkley Point. This is a key role for experienced Mechanical Fitters with a strong background in rotating equipment installation and alignment.

Key Experience Required
To be considered, you must have proven experience in:
- Installation & alignment of single- and multi‑train rotating equipment
- Using laser alignment equipment to high accuracy

Role Responsibilities
You’ll be part of our pump installation team, carrying out a wide range of mechanical fitting duties, including:
- Surveying and marking out foundations
- Installing embedded plates / sole plates
- Levelling equipment and base plates
- Bolt torqueing and tensioning
- Full mechanical installation support around rotating plant and associated equipment

- Working 10 hours per day, 10 days on 4 days off.

- £29.34 basic rate ph + potential £2.94 Bonus
(Overtime after 38 hours)
(Rate above Based on Grade 5 ECSA Site Agreement)
(PAYE weekly paid ONLY)

- Lodge allowance £50.81 per night and or Travel Allowances are payable
(All rates/ allowances are in line with the ECSA Site Agreement)

- You will need to have valid certificates to suit the client competency matrix e.g NVQ Level 3 or apprenticeship and valid in date CCNSG Safety Passport.

To gain access to site, all personnel will be required to complete a BPSS Application including DBS / ID checks.
All personnel will also complete an onsite Medical for Safety critical works, working at height and confined spaces. Additional training for working at height / confined spaces will also be provided.
